It’s no secret that Sony’s latest movie in the Spider-Verse Mrs. Webb it didn’t connect with the audience (for various reasons). However, a small part of us STILL enjoy the campy side of comic book cinema, despite the overwhelmingly negative sentiment that spreads like wildfire. Now, while promoting a new project, one of the film’s popular stars is defending the film and those involved in its making.

While talking to VarietySTAR Emma Roberts reveals, “Everybody likes to act like they can predict whether it’s going to work or not. And the truth is, you can’t. Things go wrong and then they blow up later on TikTok. Things go well. , but then you look at them and You’re like, “That did it right?” There’s no secret to doing something good and hitting it at the right time. Everything else is like a wish and a prayer. SJ Clarkson, did a wonderful job. She is the reason I wanted to make that film. If it wasn’t for internet culture and everything being a joke, I think the reception would have been different. And that’s what bothers me about a lot of things, even things that I’ve done, is that people just make such a joke of everything now.”
In her opinion, Marvel and DC have put out some less-than-impressive movies over the years (probably worse than Mrs. Webb).
