A former Apple employee has issued an urgent warning to iPhone users to stop doing five things that are causing irreversible damage to their devices.
You’ll definitely be guilty of at least a few of them, trust us.
Here to warn you about the negative impact your actions can have on your phone is tech TikToker and former Apple sales specialist Tyler Morgan, who shared a rundown of absolute no-nos for iPhone users in a TikTok video .

Do not turn off the phone regularly
Morgan urged people not to switch their phones on and off every day, explaining that they are ‘designed to stay on’.
The only reason you should turn them off is if they seem unresponsive.
Do not send photos to your friends
Other tips included using the AirDrop feature to send photos to people nearby.
The reason for this is that if your friend keeps saving the photo to their camera roll, they will have two versions of the picture as it will be saved as an attachment in their messaging app as well – filling up precious storage space.

Don’t take your phone into the shower with you
This sounds obvious, but some people have been known to play shower playlists on their phone while taking a shower.
This, according to Tyler, is a very bad idea.
He said: “Moisture will get into your phone a little bit.
“The other thing is overheating. [Your phone] it will heat up quickly, especially for someone who likes to take long showers.”
Don’t sleep with your phone next to you
One of the most common mistakes Morgan noted was sleeping with our phones tucked under our pillows.
It’s understandable that many of us need the comfort of doomsday motion or the snooze of a podcast to drift off, but the content creator explained just how harmful keeping your phone under your pillow can be.

“Please don’t sleep with your phone next to or under your pillow. [The pillow] it can cause overheating,” he explained.
“What happens when your phone gets hot every night? Your battery gets worse.”
Not only that, but it is also a fire hazard.
Do not charge your phone to 100 percent
And finally, when it comes to charging your phone, you might think that starting the day with the device at 100 percent is the best way to go, right?
Not according to Morgan, who stated that anyone who cares about the health of their battery should ‘absolutely’ not charge to 100 percent.
“Keep it between 20 and 80 percent if you can,” he added.
This tip proved to be the most divisive among viewers, with many taking to the comments section to question the logic behind Morgan’s reasoning.
“I don’t understand why I can’t charge my phone to 100 percent pls elaborate,” commented one user.
However, another commenter was able to clear up the confusion, explaining that charging your phone to 100 and then leaving it plugged in can cause long-term battery strain.
“[It] it slightly reduces battery life,” they wrote.
“Batteries last about 55-60%, so it’s best to keep it in a good range [of that].”
